The next mini goal I want to try and reach is lose a total of 11lbs (that's 3.4 more lbs) by Sept 19th which is the start of our fall term. That's in 2.5 weeks. I think this goal is kind of ambitious but hey, it won't hurt to try and go for it.
I realized I never posted about the fitness assessment so I'll describe how it went real quick. First he took height/weight. Then he used a device to calculate BMI/body fat percentage and measured blood pressure/resting heart rate. Then we did a 3 minute step test where afterwards he measured my heart rate right away to see how fast it came down. Then we did push-ups for a minute, sit-ups for a minute, and a sit and reach flexibility test. As far as the results... I'll wait to share until December when I get a second one for comparison.
This week has been going great so far in the working out/eating right department. Tues Ali and I did a 50 min JM video after my fitness assessment. Then yesterday I had to workout alone and attempted 2.5 miles and I did it without stopping!!! After the run I did a 30 min JM video and it was tough but I did what I could and felt great after it was all done.
Today I'll end with a success story:
I have read a few success stories now where the person has said something like "If I can do it anyone can". When I get to my goal, I ALWAYS pictured myself telling others IF I CAN DO THIS, SERIOUSLY ANYONE CAN! If other people have already done it and are saying that to me, then I KNOW I can do it too because I feel/felt the same way as them. We all counted ourselves out. We all loved food. We all didn't want to exercise. BUT WE ALL CHANGED (or still are changing in my case). And if we found the drive, the desire, and the want to change I truly believe that anyone can too. It is not easy, but it has been done and can be done!
She also said "It takes time, but it is so worth it". And that's what I think about a lot too.... this whole process will take time... maybe 6 months, maybe a year, maybe more. BUT IN THE END IT IS WORTH IT. It will be worth all those things you gave up/took out of your life, and all the sacrifices that were made. ISN'T BEING HAPPY LATER WORTH SOME HARD WORK NOW??? It sure beats being miserable, self-conscious, insecure, and un-happy for the rest of your life WHICH IS WHAT I WILL BE IF I DON'T KEEP THIS UP!
