Month 2 Reflection.

Tomorrow, September 10th marks our 2 month anniversary of starting this journey on the road to change! In the past 2 months I have dropped 8.5 pounds and I am very happy with that (although I am no where near my final goal... but it's is a solid start)! The Mud Run is also a week from tomorrow and is coming up super fast! I am getting more and more nervous each day but I know it will be a great experience no matter what happens.

Since the Mud Run is in about a week, Ali and I have been thinking about what our next couple endeavors will be once it's over. We decided to sign up for Fitzy's Run which is a 5k at the end of October. It supports a great cause, Lauren's Foundation, which was set up to raise money for cancer research after a sister in our sorority, Lauren Fitzgerald, passed away from a brain tumor in 2005. Here is her official website: http://www.laurensfoundation.org.
The 5k event is something we have volunteered at for the past couple of years, so it will be exciting to actually be able to participate this year! Another event I'd like to do, is the Philadelphia Annual Turkey Trot, which is held on Thanksgiving Day each year and it is a 5 mile run. It's in the morning so it would definitely be possible to participate in this event and I would still be able to have time with the family later on in the day! Plus, then I won't feel guilty for eating lots of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and green bean casserole later on!

Yesterday was a great day BTW! I ran 3.2 miles alone but then did a 30 min JM workout with Ali! I felt soooo good after the workout. It's amazing how you feel after you got in a great workout compared to a day where you feel you could have done more/pushed harder or didn't even workout at all. Ali and I were also talking about how it's crazy how sometimes we have died after running 2 miles but then sometimes run 3 and could keep going! But we figured a lot of factors go into a good run, including the weather and how many days it's been since our last run.

All in all I'd say the past 2 months have been very good and an overall success. I have learned SO MUCH since we started but I still want to learn and grow more! I am determined to keep this up for many more months to come until I finally reach my goal! I am on the road to becoming confident and happy. I am on the road to becoming healthy. I am on the road to finding out who I am and who I want to be. I am on the road to changing my life!
